Riga

Visit the largest city in the Baltics!

Riga is often underestimated. The metropolis on the Baltic Sea is a charming town. Its medieval walls run along modern architecture here.

Riga is currently one of the most dynamic and fastest growing cities in Europe. The heart of Riga is its picturesque old town that has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1997. Riga is located directly at the interface between East and West, North and South. That's why traditions from many countries merge here, thus forming the special flair of Riga.

Most attractions are very close together and are easily reached on foot. "Must sees" are the Town Hall Square, Riga Castle, the Cathedral and of course the Riga Stock Exchange, which is also housed in a beautiful old building.

One of the most famous spots in Riga is the stylish Bergs Bazaar, Riga first shopping street. Small shops, a green market, and cosy restaurants and cafes can be found here. The central market with its five huge market halls is also worth a visit.

The greenest city in the Baltic States and the European Capital of Culture in 2014 is definitely worth a visit!
